"Oh come let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. " Psalm 95:6
It's interesting to visit in a new Church. So much to see and people to observe. Some things are the same. Some things are very different. But wait ........ going to WORSHIP needs to be the main thing, doesn't it? Right. It needs to be about God, not so much about us. So, I give myself the pep talk on the way in: "Enter in a prayerful, expectant attitude and just worship the Lord." And I admit that I have to continually concentrate on WORSHIP rather than observing what is going on around me. It doesn't matter so much just how vibrant the choir is, how dynamic the pastor is, how many are in attendance, what ages are represented, what kinds of ministries and activities do they have going on, etc. I am not, after all, a church shopper or church judge. I am just one woman who is seeking along with her rather pastoral minded husband, seeking to find where it is the Lord wants us to serve Him just now.
So, I AGAIN close my eyes and open my heart in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to just fill me with openness and willingness to worship and praise the Lord right that moment in that place. Period. And ya know? It really is a blessing. Just worshipping and thanking the Lord for another Body of believers who is trying to serve and share the message of Jesus. Who knows where we will wind up joining? I think I shall just enjoy the journey for now.
Hope you have enjoyed worship today also. Blessings........

Mom,
You are so special to me. I appreciate the Christian example you have always been. And I agree that WORSHIP is what going to church should be all about.
I am looking forward to hugging you tomorrow.
Love you,
La
Laurie, I sure did need that hug yesterday! What a day. I felt like my feet were in sinking sand all day rather than on the Solid Rock. Talk about losing one's grip! I regret that I failed to let the Lord take me through the rough spots yesterday rather than allowing my flesh to respond. Yet it all ended nicely and we sure did enjoy our family time.
Love always.....
