Simple Things
When Autumn comes and colors change
Our hearts begins to thank anew
For all the blessings God has sent
A harvest time of simple things.
The trees and vines, the plants that bloomed
Are changing colors; some will sleep.
Some left behind their harvest gifts
That we might gather and preserve.
The fire's warmth as nights grow brisk
Calls loved ones in to share and rest
And plan and dream of days ahead
When family and friends unite.
I wonder if our Lord above
Delights in His creation work
And sees the seasons blessing us
As we pause to think and thank.
I'm thinking He sends simple things
To give our hearts that special skip
That nothing we can make or buy
Can ever touch or match.

What a lovely expression of the season!!!! I am enjoying it as well and thank God for the blessings I have often taken for granted.
Just to have a beautiful home in which to live, people who love me, family close by, and work to do......it certainly is TIME to pause remember HIS LOVE, HIS FAITHFULNESS, and HIS MERCIES!!!
P.S. By the way, I love the photo of Jay and you. It is so good.
Thank you, Dorothy. So glad to see your joyful response. Today I am waiting at home for Jay to return from the last of his 3 day revival. He was so thankful for the invitation and enjoyed preparing so much. It has been a blessing totally. And he is beginning to get caught up at the other job.
As for me, I have had to make sure I dont host a pity party about not getting to go along to the past two churches with him. So I am making my own praise and music here. (No one has asked me to tone it down!) I just might even figure out the controls on my piano after all this time. Of course I just MIGHT need another lesson....and company if you can stand the view. How is the play coming along? Sure am enjoying my goodies......Thanks for not bringing gummy bears.
