It is hard to believe that 2009 is here already. The first part of this year is so exciting for our family as we look forward to the birth of Julie's baby in just a week or so. She and Bill have prepared for this little baby girl to make her entrance into our world. She has a lovely nursery awaiting her with tiny pink and green things everywhere. The little clothes are neatly folded and stored. There are soft toys all set to entertain her. They are ready for this baby. They want to be good parents - a tender mother and a strong father. Their home is a Christian home and their Church Family is eagerly awaiting the birth of little "Paisley." All the family is eager, especially the cousins who can hardly wait to see what she will look like. Grandparents are trying to be calm. It's a wonderful time.
But this is also New Years Resolutions time. Once again I am facing the goals I set for myself last year and checking to see how I have measured up. Some goals have been attained. Some have not. It is comforting to know that God is patient and never fails. I may fail, but He never fails. He will continue to listen to my pleas and promises and He will comfort my heart and stir me forward towards better choices. I'm so thankful I have a loving Heavenly Father who has laid out His ways for me to follow, yet who is understanding and forgiving when I fail Him. It makes me want to walk in obedience and joy and peace and all those good things the Holy Spirit gives those who allow Him to fill their lives. Let this be our best year ever!

I admire you so much for even remembering what your goals WERE last New Year's!!!! Mine have vanished forever from my memory except for the perpetual "lose weight and I really DO MEAN IT this time" resolution.
I need to sit down quietly and ponder over what I should work on (or allow God to work on) this year.
