You have probably heard that gospel song "I Feel Like Travelin On" and recall that it speaks of Heaven. Well, I do love to think about what it might be like there and how glorious and wonderful it will be to see Jesus. I love to think about my Heavenly Father and being able to be in His presence and be able to worship in perfection. Now that will be wonderful. And I do like to think of seeing my parents and other loved ones again and sharing in the joy of love that is founded in the Lord alone. It will be wonderful. Someday.
For today, I feel like travelin on with my husband. He will be traveling east and invited me to come along and let us take a long weekend away. He will be working and I will be waiting for awhile, but then we will enjoy some quiet time at the ocean. The past few days have been a bit disappointing for us in several respects. Disillusionment with people or even with thinking we knew what God had planned for us to be doing is hard. Things do not always work out and people will definitely disappoint. It is hard to keep one's joy when goals are not met and plans are unplanned. So, what do we do? We take a big breath, draw closer to the One who promises to be with us and guide us, and accept the little joys each day have to offer.
Today a little joy is kissing my newest grandbaby and daughter goodbye for a few days, stopping by and delivering valentines to more sweet grandchildren and giving a piano lesson, and accepting the invitation of a loving husband to come travel for a few days with him. I like it. I feel like travelin on......

Mar,
I hope you enjoy your "mini vacation" with your husband. I so enjoy traveling with Mr. Plant Lady and I'm sure you will enjoy traveling with your honey too!
I have just returned from Washington, DC with the Mr. and we had a great time in the evenings after his meetings were done. Our return trip was highlighted by a stop at Mt. Vernon (Geo. Washington's home) for a tour of their gift shop! Yipee!! I purchased a hand-turned cherry wood platter as a souvenir as well as some wonderfully delicious pistachio brittle! He discovered the brittle from one of those point of purchase samples they always put at the register. They know how to increase sales don't they!
Enjoy your trip!

Whenever I am tempted,
Whenever doubts arise,
When song gives place to sighing,
When hope with within me dies
I draw the closer to Him,
From care He sets me free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I KNOW He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow
And I KNOW He watches me.\
This song has blessed me many times and I hope it will bless you as you endure this hard place.
Thank you Mar for your kind words. The scripture is one I used on cards when I did a card ministry for about 6 years. I depend totally on the Father for my blog. I'm not a writer so I use poems, songs, etc. that I used on my cards. I am very humbled that the scripture touched your heart. Your probably only the second person who has mentioned it.(I noticed that Lea did). God knew when I started this that one day you would need to read it. I'm so glad it helped you. If only one person is blessed by what's here it is truly worth the effort.
Don't sell yourself short you are doing a great job of writing. You have a way of expressing your feelings that I don't. It takes all kinds of people working together for the glory of God.
Blessings, my friend,
AliceE. :)
Marlene,
Thanks for stopping by today. I will share some gardening tips online if you would like, maybe we can turn your brown thumb green! Ha! Ha!
I think you should have great growing conditions in the Piedmont. When I have traveled through there, everything I have ever seen looks so lush. You just have to plant those varieties that are suited to your area.
My most awful disaster came when I tried to grow English lavender down here. WRONG species of plant!!!! To humid for it in my area. When I found I could grow the spanish variety, I had much better luck when I tried. It takes a lot of research sometimes.
If you have poor soil with rocks, you should be able to grow herbs. They are very fragrant and some of them have wonderful blooms and are happy in somewhat less than perfect soil!
Blessings~
Plant Lady
